Russian wrestlers took fourth place in the medal standings of the European Championships held in Bucharest. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
Representatives of the country won three gold, four silver and five bronze medals. Turkish wrestlers took first place in the standings. They have seven highest medals, six silver awards and four bronze ones. Azerbaijanis (5,3,8) and Armenians (4,0,2) finished in second and third places, respectively.
Earlier on February 18, Russian Abasgadzhi Magomedov won gold at the European Championships in the weight category up to 61 kilograms. In the final fight, he defeated Zelimkhan Abakarov, who represents Albania.
The European Wrestling Championships took place in Bucharest and ended on February 18. The Executive Committee of the United World of Wrestling allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in the tournament in a neutral status.
