A hockey match was held in the port of the Murmansk transport branch of Norilsk Nickel. The ice rink was poured on a special platform between two huge cranes. Lenta.ru was informed about this by the company’s press service.

A team of employees of the transport branch took to the ice; their opponents were the vice-world champion, vice-president of the KHL Alexander Guskov and the famous blogger VOBON (real name – Vladimir Timofeev).

Before the match, guests were given an extensive tour. Alexander Guskov tried out the profession of a port crane operator: after mandatory instructions, he took a “workplace” and from a height controlled complex mechanisms that allowed him to unload the ship.

At the beginning of the meeting, the diesel electric ship “Talnakh” greeted all participants with a long whistle. The match began with the traditional symbolic puck throw-in – Guskov, from the first kick, performed the world’s first click on the Arctic container ship Talnakh.

“I knew that breaking a bottle of wine on the ship was good luck. And the organizers of this unique match suggested that I do it with a puck. I couldn’t refuse, and it turned out great. In fact, playing in a port where serious production takes place every day and a large number of employees work is worth a lot. I liked it very much!” – said the hockey player.

The match ended with a score of 9:9. These were three periods of ten minutes of “dirty” time with a lot of attacks, shots from different situations and beautiful saves by goalkeepers. Post-match shootouts did not count towards the final score. Guskov scored four goals and made five assists.

“Norilsk Nickel and hockey have been going together for a long time. And here, of course, the role of the leader has a great influence. Vladimir Olegovich Potanin shows by personal example that hockey gives a boost of life and is capable of giving the joy of being involved in your favorite game,” the athlete noted.

Deputy Head of the Murmansk Transport Branch Denis Safonov emphasized that organizing a match in the transport port was not easy, but interesting.

“We are definitely used to complex problems and know how to solve them. And to try your hand at playing against such a hockey player as Alexander Guskov is a real holiday. Of course, we immediately realized that the vice world champion was completely fine. We tried to meet and reach for this level,” Safonov clarified.

The VOBON blogger admitted that before the game against the Norilsk Nickel team in a two-on-two format, there were worries. However, in the team with Alexander Guskov, emotions overwhelmed me.

“I ran for 30 minutes and didn’t seem tired at all. Although Guskov didn’t let me rest on the ice: he constantly provided me with programs and motivated me. The match turned out great. Thanks to the organizers for this holiday!” – he said.
