The Spartak legend commented on the verdict of the club’s legionnaire Promes

Lovchev called on Spartak to help the football player Promes convicted in the Netherlands

The USSR champion in the Moscow “Spartak” Evgeniy Lovchev spoke in the Telegram channel about the verdict against the club’s legionnaire Quincy Promes.

“I can’t get my head around the image of Promes in Russia with what he is now being charged with in Holland. I know Promes, who in Russia at Spartak behaved normally and played in such a way that there are no and cannot be any complaints,” said the legendary red-and-white player. Lovchev called on Spartak to help the footballer and make sure that he did not feel abandoned. He added that he does not understand the demands to immediately terminate the contract with Promes.

Earlier on February 16, it became known that Promes was put on the international wanted list. Also, the Dutch prosecutor’s office seized nine properties of the athlete in the country.

On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison. According to investigators, in 2019 the forward was involved in transporting a large amount of cocaine belonging to Surinamese drug trafficker Piet Wartel.
