Journalist Saltvedt: Vyalbe’s words about the envy of foreigners are like a bad joke
Norwegian journalist NRK Jan Petter Saltvedt ridiculed the words of the President of the Russian Cross-Country Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe about the envy of foreigners towards Russian tournaments. He is quoted by Sport24.
“This looks like Mrs. Vyalbe’s bad joke. I’m sure she doesn’t even believe a single word she says,” Saltvedt said. The journalist added that foreigners cannot watch Russian competitions because they are not broadcast. In his opinion, Vyalba would really like the Russians to return to international competitions.
Earlier, the head of the FLGR said that foreigners watch Russian tournaments and are jealous. Vyalbe also noted that she does not watch international competitions, as they are not interesting to her.
On October 25, 2023, the Council of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation extended sanctions against Russian athletes. For the first time, restrictions on the performance of Russians at international ski tournaments were imposed in March 2022.
