The head of the FFKKR Anton Sikharulidze called for support for Kamila Valieva
Acting President of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Anton Sikharulidze made a statement regarding the case of Kamila Valieva. His words are quoted by TASS.
The head of the FFKKR called for support for the athlete. “This support is not to fantasize, but to wait for official statements from those organizations that have to say something. And after that it will be necessary to draw conclusions,” said Sikharulidze.
Earlier, FFKKR General Director Alexander Kogan refused to comment on Valieva’s disqualification. Journalists asked the functionary to dot the i’s in the athlete’s case. “You have too many points,” replied the general director of the federation.
On January 29, the Court of Arbitration for Sport disqualified Valieva for four years for doping. The period of suspension starts on December 25, 2021. According to the court, Valieva could not prove that she took the prohibited drug trimetazidine unintentionally.
