Fonavi: new refund of contributions must occur in March, according to Ad Hoc Commission

The Fonavi Ad Hoc Commission A new delivery of contributions is being prepared, but it will not be list 21. Luis Luzuriaga, president of this group empowered to fulfill the social debt of more than a million older adults, told La República that it is urgent to repay this money with dignity, but since the Council of Ministers are limiting the plans.

“With the delays seen in list 20 and the cutback in deliveries, the PCM wants to review the entire process and lengthen it. We are going to settle the situation. We Fonavistas want it to be in March. March 15. We do not accept another date. It has to start the return once and for all,” he told this newspaper.

Luzuriaga points out that On February 22, they will meet in the Ad Hoc Commission and propose that the remuneration criteria authorized by the Government be respected.: for people over 60 years of age, with priority to those who suffer from an illness or disability, as well as their loved ones.

However, the PCM, through the Technical Secretariat, only wants to give contributions to those over 80 years of age and only to the account holders and not to their heirs.

“It is not a list 21. It is a reinstatement group (of previous lists) (…) The proposal is raw. We are going to discuss it and find a middle point, and, if the guidelines are approved, we will begin. That money is in the Banco de la Nación and they will only have to go and collect — as is happening now with those on list 1 to 19, who have been withdrawing their contributions since February 1 —,” he added.

MEF must comply with Fonavistas

Luzuriaga asked the brand new Minister of Economy and FinanceJosé Arista, comply with giving them a supplementary credit for S/3,300 million for Fonavi payments, since In the 2024 Public Budget they were not given a single penny.

It is worth noting that the Ad Hoc Commission has a budget of S/2,300 million for the remuneration of contributions; and for list 20, S/164 million 350,034 have been transferred. The total universe of resources to be reinjected is S/6,000 million, but the MEF has not allocated items to comply with this social debt. In addition, S/42,000 million is missing from employers, but the Constitutional Court denied honoring this debt.
