Skier Kuleshova complained about wages in the Nizhny Novgorod region team
Olympic bronze medalist in cross-country skiing Anastasia Kuleshova complained about the low salary in the Nizhny Novgorod region team, which she represents at all-Russian competitions. Her words are quoted by Sport Express.
According to the athlete, she was offered to compete for another region, but she refused. “I can’t leave there, because this is my home region, my parents and coaches are there. I can’t change the team purely on some moral principles,” Kuleshova said.
Earlier, two-time Olympic swimming champion Evgeny Rylov spoke about how international suspension affected his income. The athlete noted that he did not notice much of a difference.
Kuleshova took bronze in the relay at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang. She also became third in the same program at the 2019 World Championships.
