President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe shared her opinion on the attitude of foreigners towards Russian tournaments. Her words are quoted by TASS.
Vyalbe said that foreigners watch Russian competitions and are jealous. She added that she does not watch international competitions. “I’m not interested in them. I don’t follow them, I don’t look, I don’t know anything,” noted the head of the FLGR.
On October 25, 2023, the Council of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation extended sanctions against Russian athletes. For the first time, restrictions on the performance of Russians at international ski tournaments were imposed in March 2022.
On December 8, the International Olympic Committee announced the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the 2024 Summer Olympics as individual neutral athletes and subject to certain conditions. The issue of Russian participation in the 2026 Winter Games has not been resolved at the moment.
