Swimmer Rylov said that international suspension did not affect his income
Two-time Olympic swimming champion Evgeny Rylov spoke about how international suspension affected his income. His words are quoted by TASS.
The athlete noted that he did not notice much of a difference. “Thank God, alternative sponsors have appeared. Let’s see what will happen next. In the future, I could earn more if I weren’t banned from competing at international competitions,” said Rylov.
Last December, Rylov announced his refusal to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games. He criticized the conditions put forward by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the Russians.
In April 2022, the International Swimming Federation (FINA) banned Russians from participating in competitions under its auspices. In February 2023, the organization moved the 2025 World Aquatics Championships from Russia.
