Navka suggested that the disqualified Valieva will be able to perform on her show
Olympic champion in ice dancing Tatyana Navka answered a question about the participation of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva in her show. Her words are quoted by Match TV.
Navka suggested that Valieva, disqualified for doping, would be able to perform on her show. “We are now waiting for a full transcript of the decisions from her team. All that remains is to understand on what dates and where she will participate,” she noted.
Earlier, the Russian Anti-Doping Agency assessed the legitimacy of Valieva’s participation in ice shows. “In some cases, for example, if certain organizations are involved in the organizers of the show, a violation of the terms of disqualification may occur, which may lead to a doubling of the sanction period,” the organization explained.
On January 29, the Court of Arbitration for Sport disqualified Valieva for four years. The period of suspension is counted from the moment the sample is taken – December 25, 2021. The fact that traces of the banned drug trimetazidine were found in it became known after the end of the team tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games, where the Russian team won gold.
