The Música-Musika festival will draw images through music

The festival Musika-Musicorganized by the Bilbao City Council, will offer a total of 76 concerts in its 23rd edition, which will be held on the first weekend of next March.

Under the generic title of ‘Images’, the performances will take place in different rooms of the Euskalduna palace simultaneously, as reported by the city council of the capital of Biscay this Monday.

The inaugural concert will be held on Friday, March 1, at the Arriaga theater by the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa (BOS) and the Bilbao Choral Society, under the direction of Lucas Macías.

The program for this opening event consists of the works ‘Eusko Irudiak’ by Jesús Guridi and ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’, by Modest Mussorgsky, in its orchestral version by Maurice Ravel.

During the festival you can listen to music by composers such as Beethoven, Falla, Granados, Debussy and Ravel.

The cinema will also be present with concerts by the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra, with music by Leonard Bernstein, and the Bilbao Municipal Band, which on Sunday will perform the ‘Suite on the melodies of C. Chaplin’ by M. Peeters.

Also scheduled is the soundtrack that Antón Alcalde has written for ‘The pawnshop’, which will accompany the screening of Charles Chaplin’s film of the same name.

In total, nearly a thousand professionals will perform in a music ‘marathon’ with tickets under 13 euros.
