Russian fighter Nemkov said that Bellator will not just let him go to the UFC
Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Vadim Nemkov answered a question about the transition from Bellator to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). His words are quoted by Sport Express.
“Bellator won’t just let me go to the UFC or some other organization, because I achieved a lot in Bellator, I became a champion. And it’s not easy to just take it and leave – there will be legal proceedings,” he said. Nemkov added that he gets more for going to fight in Bellator than he would get for winning in the UFC.
The 31-year-old Nemkov has 17 wins and two losses in mixed martial arts. Another fight with his participation was declared invalid. He has competed in Bellator since 2017 and was the promotion’s light heavyweight champion.
Bellator has been around since 2008. It is considered the second largest MMA promotion in the world after the UFC.
