Ishmuratova called tournaments without Russian biathletes competitions for asthmatics
Two-time Olympic biathlon champion Svetlana Ishmuratova assessed international tournaments without Russians. Her words are quoted by TASS.
Ishmuratova called tournaments without Russians competitions for asthmatics, which she is not interested in. “Yes, we failed in performances, but there were also good results. It’s very important for a fan to watch the ups and downs of the competition when our guys or girls are competing,” she said.
Earlier, Ishmuratova predicted Russia’s return to tournaments. “The International Olympic Committee and federations themselves will invite and ask to participate in many competitions,” she explained.
Russians do not participate in international tournaments by decision of the International Biathlon Union (IBU). The order came into force in March 2022 and will remain in effect until further notice.
