No vinegar or citric acid. This sweet drink will remove limescale from your kettle

Scale settling at the bottom of the kettle is a real nuisance. One of the most popular ways to remove it is to use vinegar or citric acid, but in today’s episode of “Myka” we have one more trick for you.

How to remove scale from a kettle? This is one of the phrases that Internet users often enter into search engines. There are several methods and tricks. Today our myk expert tested a popular method using cola. Is it working? We checked it!

Pour Coke into the kettle and get rid of limescale once and for all

It has long been known that cola has many properties. It’s not necessarily the healthiest choice when it comes to health benefits, but if we’re talking about taking care of your home, it definitely is. This popular drink consists of sweeteners, carbon dioxide, phosphoric acid, ammonia-sulfite caramel, caffeine and water. Thanks to some of these ingredients, we can deal with rust, burnt pots, blood stains or scale on bathroom fittings or kettles.

After all, none of us likes drinking tea or coffee with stones, right? That’s why it’s worth trying myk with cola every now and then, when we see it at the bottom of our kettle. Just pour about 300 ml of cola (can) into it and boil it as usual. After a while, you will see that the unwanted scale from the bottom of the kettle will disappear. See for yourself how our myka expert Tomek did it.

Other ways to remove scale from a kettle

Another way to remove scale from the bottom of the kettle is citric acid. Pour in a sachet of the product, pour water and boil as usual. It is best to leave this mixture in the device for a few hours. Then pour out the contents, but remember to boil the kettle with clean water several times after this procedure to get rid of any remaining solution.

Another idea may be baking soda, loved by cleaning enthusiasts. This trick is as simple as the previous ones. Pour a few tablespoons of baking soda into the kettle and spread it thoroughly on the bottom of the device. Wait about 30 minutes and it’s ready. Remember to rinse the kettle thoroughly, as in the case of citric acid, to get rid of the characteristic smell and taste of soda.
