Footballer Dzhikia: I’m not joining Spartak not only for gaming reasons
The captain of Spartak Moscow, Georgy Dzhikia, explained his reluctance to remain in the team. His words are quoted by Sports.ru.
The defender confirmed the statement of his agent Vadim Shpinev, but emphasized that he would try to get into the squad. “I understand a lot, I’m not a 20-year-old boy. But I have my life, my position,” Jikia added. In his opinion, he does not make it into the Spartak squad not only for playing reasons.
On February 5, Shpinev spoke about the player’s reluctance to remain on the team because of head coach Guillermo Abascal. The agent said that the defender will not renew his contract with the red-whites if Abascal remains as head coach.
The defender has been playing for Spartak since 2017, and as part of the team he became the champion of Russia. Dzhikia has two goals in 44 matches for the Russian national team. The Transfermarkt portal estimates the player’s value at 5 million euros.
