Rotenberg accused Avangard coach Kravets of planning to injure his player
SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg said that Avangard Omsk coach Mikhail Kravets instructed Hawks player Nikita Kholodilin to injure one of the leaders of the St. Petersburg club, Sergei Tolchinsky. His words are quoted by “Championship”.
“But this is wrong, we need to play hockey, we don’t need dirt. Why force your players to hit the head and use dirty tricks?” – said Rotenberg.
Kravets responded to his colleague’s accusations. “I have never tolerated meanness, I have never done meanness. I don’t know where Roman Borisovich came from with these inventions. I think many players in St. Petersburg, in SKA, can tell the truth. And this is a complete lie. This is offensive and wrong,” the specialist emphasized.
Tolchinsky was injured in the second period after a power move from Kholodilin. The judges watched the video replay and did not see any violation of the rules in the Avangard player’s actions. The meeting ended with the victory of the Omsk team with a score of 9:5.
