The meeting on awarding technical defeats to the KHL club “Sibir” was postponed
The meeting of the disciplinary chamber of the Russian Hockey Federation (RHF) and the Continental Hockey League (KHL) on the appeal of the Novosibirsk “Sibir” against the league’s decision to award technical defeats was postponed. TASS reports this.
The trial will take place on February 9. It is noted that the decision was made in order to clarify the circumstances with the club and the league.
“Siberia” was awarded four technical defeats for violating the limit on foreign players on January 17. The KHL stated that four foreign players Andy Andreoff, Taylor Beck, Fedor Gordeev and Trevor Murphy performed in meetings with Omsk Avangard, Barys from Astana (twice) and Yekaterinburg Avtomobilist. In addition, the team received a monetary fine.
A new limit was introduced in the KHL this season. A team’s roster for a match can include a maximum of three foreign players.
