Thiago Alcântara disagreed about leaving Liverpool and downplayed the rumors of a possible negotiation with Barcelona. Even so, the midfielder is still not satisfied with his performance.
Of the last eight victories of the English team, Thiago played a fundamental role on the field. In seven of them he started and scored two goals, but admits that he can advance his pace even further.
“I’m the kind of person I always want more and more. I’m never happy with my performance, I always want more” said the athlete to the Liverpool website.
“I definitely came to a club to try to win every game, play every game, and if I start, much better. Now we are in a strange period, but at the same time we just have to adapt to the situation and try to overcome it as best we can,” he added.
Thiago’s two goals came in insistence. He scored, from long distance, against Porto and also swelled the net in Anfield’s victory against Southampton.
“In the position I’m in, I give more assists and score more goals. I’m more than satisfied with the team’s performance, for having won the games, being solid”, he commented.
After Thursday’s 3-1 victory over Newcastle United, Liverpool are second in the Premier League table with 40 points, one less than leaders Manchester City.
“At this moment, if the season ends in a month, I can say that we are ready to play for everything or to achieve everything. All titles and trophies are possible. We are here for that”, concluded Thiago Alcântara.
