Law firm Pinna Legal plans to appeal the CAS decision on Valieva
Law firm Pinna Legal has decided to appeal the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to disqualify Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva to the Swiss Supreme Court. The Times reports this.
According to the source, the lawyers plan to appeal to the Supreme Court of Switzerland, located in Lausanne. It is noted that parties have the right to appeal within 30 days of the CAS decision on limited grounds.
On February 2, CAS reported that the full decision in Valieva’s case could be published by February 9-11. At the same time, the court noted that some of the information may remain confidential.
On January 29, CAS disqualified Valieva for four years. The period of suspension starts on December 25, 2021. Then traces of the banned drug trimetazidine were found in her sample.
