Russian figure skater Vladislav Dikidzhi was attacked in the subway by an elderly man with a knife. The athlete’s coach Oleg Tataurov revealed such details in a conversation with TASS.
“It is clear that the elderly man was acting out of control, or had been drinking, it is not clear why the attack occurred. Vladislav pushed him away when he put the knife to his throat and left the carriage,” he said. According to him, Dikiji is in good condition, there are no cuts. The police are looking for the attacker.
The press service of the State Unitary Enterprise “Petersburg Metro” told the agency that “the man was threatened with a knife at the Pionerskaya metro station, he did not ask for help, and left the scene of the incident on his own,” without specifying the identity of the victim.
Earlier, figure skater Vyacheslav Dikidzhi spoke about an attack on him with a knife in the subway.
19-year-old Dikidzhi trains in Oleg Tataurov’s group in St. Petersburg. In 2024, the athlete became a silver medalist in the team tournament at the Russian Jumping Championship.
