The team Mercedes announced this Thursday that the seven-time English world champion Lewis Hamilton will not continue driving for it after the 2024 season, moments before Ferrari announced the signing of the Briton, who starting next year will race for a ‘Scuderia’ from which the Spaniard will leave Carlos Sainz.

In a cascade they came out during the afternoon-night of this Thursday. three statements: the first, which pointed to Hamilton’s departure from Mercedes; another, which announced his signing for Ferrari; and immediately after, that of Sainz, confirming that he would not continue, after 2024, in the Maranello team.

Hamilton, 39, won his first world title in 2008aboard a McLaren and added six more for the German team based in Brackley (Great Britain) – in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, when he equaled the historical record of titles held by German Michael Schumacher -.
