Lewandowski attacks. This is the classification of the Golden Boot

On Friday they defeated 4-0 at home in the 17th Bundesliga matchday. The goals for the German champions were scored successively by Thomas Mueller, Dayot Upamecano, Leroy Sane and who scored in the 87th minute of the game. An extremely valuable goal, already 43 in the calendar year in the Bundesliga. The Pole improved Gerd Mueller’s achievement 49 years ago by one hit.

For Lewandowski it is already the 19th hit this league season. The Pole is three hits ahead of Patrik Schick from Bayer Leverkusen, who so far also looks like Lewandowski’s rival in the fight for another Golden Boot. Dusan Vlahović from Fiorentina and Mohamed Salah from Liverpool will also race with the captain of the Polish national team.

Lewandowski is getting closer to the leader of the Golden Boot

At the moment, Robert Lewandowski has 38 points in the Golden Boot classification (goals scored in the TOP5 leagues have a coefficient of 2.0). In front of the Polish representative there are Ohi Omoijuanfo from Molde (40.5 points) and Thomas Lehne Olsen from Lillestro (39 points). Both Norwegian league players will no longer improve their track record as the league games have ended. Thus, Lewandowski will take the lead in the Golden Boot classification if he scores two more goals in the Bundesliga.

At the end of September, Robert Lewandowski received his first Golden Boot for the best scorer from the European leagues. The Pole ended the previous season with 41 goals in the Bundesliga, thanks to which he broke the record belonging to Gerd Mueller in the 1971/1972 season. “I have never experienced it when scoring goals. I never thought it could happen. It is something I would never believe. I was focused on every game and I am very proud of this record” – said Lewandowski during the ceremony.
