Spanish court orders Lucas Hernández’s arrest for 10 days, newspaper says

Last Sunday, Lucas Hernández was champion of the League of Nations with France, after the current world champion defeated Spain in the final. However, things are not going well outside the four lines for the side of the Bayern Munchen. According to the newspaper AS, Madrid’s 32nd Criminal Court demanded the player’s arrest.

The conviction is due to the athlete’s failure to comply with a court order. Hernández will have to present himself to the aforementioned Court, on October 19, to choose the penitentiary center where he will serve a ten-day sentence. The player can still try a new resource, which will be evaluated when it presents itself in the Spanish capital.

In February 2017, when he was still representing the Atlético de Madrid, Hernández and his girlfriend, Amélia de la Osa Lorente, were accused of domestic violence. Both had to complete a month of community service and were prevented from meeting for six months.

However, Lucas and Amelia disrespected the order and traveled together in June of the same year, when they were caught in Miami. The Frenchman was even temporarily detained. The Public Ministry requested the athlete’s arrest for a period of one year.

The player was convicted by the 35th Criminal Court in Madrid and his lawyers tried to reverse the sentence in community services, but the request was denied.

According to the AS, Bayern Munich was not aware of this issue until October this year.
