Mozyakin supported the desire of young Metallurg players to try their hand at the NHL
2018 Olympic champion Sergei Mozyakin, who now holds the post of assistant head coach of Metallurg, appreciated the desire of the club’s young players to leave for the National Hockey League (NHL). His words are quoted by TASS.
“They need to add. I don’t mind them leaving. Young guys, why don’t they try?” – Mozyakin supported the athletes. He noted that hockey players will always have the opportunity to return to the Magnitogorsk club.
On October 21, Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin announced that the department, together with the State Duma, would develop restrictions on the travel of talented Russian hockey players abroad. “Let’s see how we can protect the interests of Russian hockey, athletes, coaches and sports schools in order to limit the departure of talented athletes,” he said.
On October 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin called for an investigation into the transfers of young Russian hockey players to foreign clubs. “We need to understand what we should do with these hockey businessmen who take children from sports schools and drag them abroad,” said the head of state.
