Russian figure skater Maria Simonova, who hit her head on the ice at a tournament in Moscow, will be discharged from the hospital on January 26. The date was announced to RIA Novosti by the General Director of the city Figure Skating Federation (FFKKM) Nina Moser.
The functionary noted that everything was fine with the 14-year-old athlete. Previously, she announced that an examination had been carried out, which did not reveal any serious consequences for Simonova’s health.
On January 25, Irina Simonova, the figure skater’s mother, spoke about her daughter’s fall. According to the woman, an ambulance took the girl from the skating rink, and her partner and coach went to the hospital with them.
The incident occurred on January 24 during the All-Russian competition for the prizes of the President of the FFKKM. Simonova’s 17-year-old partner Martin Breslavsky was unable to hold her during support, as a result of which the skater fell on the ice and hit her head.
