Businessman Dmitry Rybolovlev valued Monaco at a billion euros
Russian businessman Dmitry Rybolovlev, who owns a controlling stake in Monaco, estimated the club’s value at a billion euros. About this on social networks X (formerly Twitter) reported by journalist Ben Jacobs.
The Russian owns 67 percent of the team’s shares, which he purchased for 130 million euros. According to the source, now Rybolovlev wants five times more for them. However, shares owned by the royal family of Monaco are not available for sale.
Earlier it became known that Rybolovlev was thinking about selling Monaco. A spokesman for the billionaire’s family office said it had begun the process of exploring strategic options for its stake in the club.
Rybolovlev acquired a controlling stake in Monaco in 2011, and in 2017 the team won the French championship. A year later, Russian national team midfielder Alexander Golovin joined the club.
