Fetisov asked Czech Hasek about responsibility due to his position on the Russians
Two-time Olympic champion and State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov asked two-time Stanley Cup winner Dominik Hasek a question about his position on Russian athletes. His words are quoted by VseProSport.
“Where is his responsibility, other than blaming someone, not analyzing the situation, not understanding?” – Fetisov asked the Czech. In his opinion, Hasek should mind his own business.
On January 9, Hasek addressed Russian hockey players and officials. The former athlete said that not a single domestic athlete can participate in international tournaments due to the events in Ukraine.
Hasek is known for criticizing Russian athletes. He called for Russians to be banned from all international tournaments. In particular, the Czech proposed suspending the contracts of Russian players in the National Hockey League, and later called on the league leaders to resign because of their position on Russia.
