Forward of the National Youth Hockey League (NMHL) club “EkoNiva-Bobrov” from the Voronezh region, Venedikt Osipov, died on the ice during training. Sport Express reports this.
According to the source, the cause of death of the 17-year-old athlete was cardiac arrest. Match TV writes that at the beginning of training, the hockey player hit the goal, then stood in line behind the other players and fell on the ice.
He was given first aid, after which an ambulance was called. “They started artificial ventilation, but they couldn’t save him,” the club said. It is noted that the entire team underwent a medical examination and the condition of the athletes was satisfactory. Bobrov promised to provide assistance to the player’s family.
EkoNiva-Bobrov plays in the National Youth Hockey League (NMHL). The team is part of the Voronezh club of the All-Russian Hockey League “Buran”.
