The Dutch prosecutor’s office has demanded a nine-year prison sentence for the Dutch legionnaire of the Moscow Spartak, Quincy Promes, accused of drug smuggling. AD reports this.

The court hearing takes place in Amsterdam on Wednesday, January 24. The 32-year-old player is not present. According to the prosecution, the Dutchman played a leading role in a criminal group involved in the transportation of prohibited substances.

Earlier it became known that the attempt of the Dutch prosecutor’s office to extradite Promes to his homeland from the UAE was unsuccessful. In a Middle Eastern country, the player is at a training camp with the red and white.

In January last year, Promes was suspected of having connections with Surinamese drug trafficker Piet Wartel. According to the Dutch prosecutor’s office, in 2019 the midfielder was involved in transporting a large amount of cocaine belonging to Wortel.
