Spartak lost to Ak Bars in the KHL regular season match

Moscow “Spartak” lost to Kazan “Ak Bars” on the road in a regular season match of the Continental Hockey League (KHL). This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

The meeting took place on Sunday, January 21. The main time of the match ended with the score 3:3. Dmitry Kagarlitsky, Artem Lukoyanov and Ilya Safonov scored goals among the winners. Maxim Tsyplakov scored a double for the red-whites, and Ilya Kovalchuk saved the guests from defeat in regular time with a goal in the last minutes. In overtime, the spectators did not see any goals scored, and in the shootout the hosts were stronger.

Spartak suffered its eighth defeat in the last nine matches; the team is fourth in the Western Conference with 70 points. Ak Bars has 64 points and is in sixth position in the Eastern Conference.

In the next match on January 23, Spartak will play against Dynamo Moscow on a foreign court. “Ak Bars” will meet Avtomobilist on a foreign site a day later.
