Smith said that the Russian Computer Sports Federation is still a member of the IESF
The President of the Computer Sports Federation (FKS) of Russia, Dmitry Smith, denied the statement of the International Cyber Sports Federation (IESF) about the suspension of the country’s membership in the organization. The functionary told Lenta.ru about this.
“We are still members of the IESF. Our foreign colleagues from the IESF secretariat are trying not to remove our players from the international arena, but to once again ban us from competing under the Russian flag, replacing it with the IESF flag. At the moment, the decision they have made is temporary, and will remain so until the congress of the International Federation,” Smith said.
He added that he was looking forward to the next IESF congress. “We expect him to give a fair assessment of such actions and remove unlawful restrictions, if they occur at all,” Smith said.
A statement on the suspension of Russia’s membership in the IESF appeared on the International Federation’s website on January 18. The publication emphasized that the decision was related to Ukraine’s complaint that the Russian FCC began operating in new regions of the country.
