Khabib Nurmagomedov assessed the possibility of returning to the UFC

Former Russian fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov denied a possible return to the UFC

Former Russian mixed-style fighter (MMA) Khabib Nurmagomedov again assessed the possibility of returning to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). His words are available on the athlete’s Instagram page (the social network is banned in Russia; belongs to the company Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

Nurmagomedov denied a possible return to the UFC. “UFC 300 will go ahead without me, just like UFC 400,” he wrote.

UFC 300 will take place in Las Vegas on April 14, 2024. The promotion is trying to attract current and former star fighters to participate in the anniversary event. As part of UFC 300, the fights announced are Charles Oliveira – Arman Tsarukyan, Jiri Prochazka – Alexander Rakic, Calvin Kattar – Aljamain Sterling and others. At the same time, the participants in the main and co-main battles have not been identified.

Nurmagomedov previously said that he was offered $40 million to return to the Octagon. “But for me this is not the most important thing, not the most important thing. It was not an easy decision to end my career, but if it is made, that’s it, it’s over,” he emphasized.

Nurmagomedov defended his UFC lightweight title three times before retiring in 2020. In total, the athlete won 29 victories in 29 professional fights in mixed martial arts.
