Fighter Ankalaev received a bonus for defeating Walker in the main fight at the UFC tournament
Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Magomed Ankalaev won the main fight of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Fight Night 234 tournament. The results are available on the promotion website.
The Russian beat Brazilian Johnny Walker. The fight took place in American Las Vegas and ended with a knockout in the second round. After the fight, Ankalaev received a bonus of 50 thousand dollars for the best performance of the evening. He asked the UFC management to give him a title fight.
The fight between Ankalaev and Walker was a rematch. They first met on October 21, 2023 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi (UAE). Then the Russian struck his opponent with a prohibited knee blow to the head, and the referee stopped the fight. After examination by doctors, it was determined that Walker would not be able to continue the confrontation. The fight was declared invalid.
In total, 31-year-old Ankalaev won 18 victories and suffered one defeat. Another fight with his participation ended in a draw.
