Biathlete Tikhonov called the Norwegians “a stingy, pro-fascist nation”
Four-time Olympic biathlon champion Alexander Tikhonov admitted his hatred of the Norwegians. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“I just hate Norwegians, these stingy people. This is the most stingy, pro-fascist nation,” said the former athlete. He said that Norway was the only country that hosted World Cups and World Championships that did not have VIP tents set up with food and drinks.
In 2022, Tikhonov shared his opinion about Norwegian athletes. He stated that scandals in biathlon and skiing occur only at the initiative of representatives of these countries.
Russians and Belarusians did not participate in international tournaments in the 2022/2023 season by decision of the International Biathlon Union. The order came into force in March 2022 and will remain in effect until further notice.
