The only goal in the third period was scored by the defender of the national team Vyacheslav Voinov. He hit the corner of the Swedish national team’s goal using Nikita Gusev’s pass. This goal allowed the Russians to achieve victory in the second match of the Channel One Cup.

In the first meeting within the framework of the tournament, domestic hockey players outplayed the Canadians with a score of 4: 3. In this meeting, as in the match against the Swedes, Russian hockey players played in the uniform of the USSR national team of the 1956 model in honor of the 75th anniversary of Russian hockey. In December 1946, the first matches of the USSR ice hockey championship took place.

The Channel One Cup is the second of the four stages of the Euro Hockey Tour. Among the rivals of the Russians are the teams of Sweden, Canada, the Czech Republic and Finland.
