The health sector will be the one with the largest contingent of people ready to attend to emergencies and cover the needs that arise during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays in Manabí.
Of those, a total of 4.318 Health professionals will attend four general hospitals, seven basic hospitals, fourteen health centers with 24-hour care, 15 health centers with eight-hour care and the support of 31 ambulances.
Juan Francisco Núñez, governor of Manabí, indicated that they work from this institution with different government entities to provide the Manabitas with all the necessary contingent to live the holidays in peace and safeguard the health situation due to COVID-19.
This contingency plan was drawn up together with representatives of the forces of order and control institutions of the province.

The National Police will have 1,735 troops at Christmas and 1,755 elements at New Year’s Eve. Likewise, from the ECU911 Integrated Service, monitoring will be carried out through the 537 cameras installed in the province.
The National Electricity Corporation (CNEL) will have 266 operational technicians ready with the uninterrupted schedule (24/7) in the Rocafuerte, Portoviejo and Manta areas, while in other cantons they will work 16 hours a day.
The National Transit Agency (ANT) will carry out operations in land terminals and in the state road network with 303 members.
The Ministry of Transportation and Public Works will be activated by technical personnel, equipment and machinery operators from the institution; In addition, it will have the support of contracted companies that carry out work on the state road network.
The authorities also reiterated the need to maintain the permanent use of masks, social distancing, hand washing and that there is a maximum capacity of 50% in convention centers for dinners, corporate lunches, reception rooms, restaurants, bars, discos and related, tolerance centers, with a mandatory two-dose vaccination certificate and compliance with biosafety measures.
The capacity in markets, supermarkets, shopping centers, religious centers, fairs, with presentation of a vaccination certificate with two doses from the age of 12 will be 75%.
Access to the spas will be between 06:00 and 18:00 and it was reiterated that events such as concerts, Child passes, processions, novenas, festivals of old years or burns, popular festivals in public spaces are prohibited. (I)
