Malkin’s goal and assist helped Pittsburgh defeat Philadelphia in an NHL match
Russian forward of the Pittsburgh Penguins Evgeni Malkin scored a goal in the regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL) against the Philadelphia Flyers. Results are available on the league website.
The meeting took place at the Wells Fargo Center and ended with a score of 4:1. The goal was Malkin’s 486th in his career. The 37-year-old athlete also scored an assist. The hockey player was recognized as the first star of the match.
On December 28, 2023, Malkin took second place among Russians in the number of goals scored in the NHL regular championships. In the meeting against the New York Islanders (7:0), the forward scored a double and brought his number of goals to 484. This allowed him to overtake Sergei Fedorov, who had 483 goals.
The striker has been playing for Pittsburgh since 2006. Together with the team, he became a three-time Stanley Cup winner.
