The RFU will take part in the UEFA Congress on February 8, 2024 in Paris
The Russian Football Union (RFU) will take part in the next congress of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). RFU President Alexander Dyukov reported this to TASS.
According to the functionary, the composition of the delegation that will go to the event has already been determined. The UEFA Congress meeting will take place on February 8 in Paris.
Last December, all members of the RFU executive committee considered it pointless to move to Asia without guarantees from the International Football Federation (FIFA). It was decided that the organization will continue to contact UEFA upon the return of Russians to tournaments.
On February 28, 2022, FIFA and UEFA excluded Russian national teams and clubs from international tournaments. Teams do not compete in European competitions, and the Russian national team lost the opportunity to compete for access to the final part of the 2022 World Cup and did not participate in the Euro 2024 qualifications.
