Jesús Owono did not fail in the few times he had in the first half. The local goalkeeper seemed very confident against the offensive battery of a Betis team that grew as the minutes passed.
Luis García Plaza’s men jumped again with more spark after passing through the locker room. The stands even called for a goal in a plank shot. Kike Garcia Luis Rioja’s cross, but the ball went just past the post.
There were several consecutive arrivals. In one of them and after several consecutive shots and rejections, Carlos Benavídez got it right when adjusting it to Rui Costa’s post to put the 1-0with just over half an hour ahead.
