In Russia, not only prices have increased, but also the salary expectations of citizens. Now Russians who are looking for work are guided by an average salary of 115 thousand rubles, said the director of the Institute of Socio-Economic Research of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Alexey Zubets, writes Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
He emphasized that the conclusion was made on the basis of sociological research. He is confident that the increase in citizens’ salary expectations is a good indicator of economic dynamics. “When people look for work, they assume what income they can expect, taking into account labor market conditions,” Zubets added. According to him, salary expectations fairly closely reflect economic realities. Thus, at the beginning of 2022, applicants were guided by approximately 96 thousand rubles per month; in April 2022, income decreased to 94 thousand, and in the summer it returned to a level of about 100 thousand per month. Further, according to the expert, progress slowed down. And by May 2023, salary expectations rose to 106 thousand rubles.
Now there is another breakthrough in the desired income, Zubets added.
At the same time, he named Vladivostok, Volgograd, Ryazan, Kazan, Novokuznetsk, Moscow, Ufa, Omsk, Ekaterinburg and Orenburg as the leaders among cities in terms of growth in salary expectations. Thus, in Moscow the average desired salary is 116 thousand per month, and in Vladivostok – 127 thousand, the professor specified.
Earlier, expert on socio-economic development of regions Natalya Zubarevich explained why everything is becoming more expensive in Russia and what will happen to prices in 2014.
