Zagitova said that “inevitably” is a mix of the words “hopelessness” and “inevitably”
Russian figure skater Alina Zagitova explained the use of the word “inevitably.” She wrote about this in her Telegram channel.
“I meant “inevitable” and “hopelessness.” Apparently, I combined this, and I came up with such a word. By the way, it’s in some dictionary somewhere, as it turns out. Let’s say I read it, let’s say I took this word from there,” said the 2018 Olympic figure skating champion.
For the first time, Zagitova uttered the word “inevitably” in the summer of 2023 in the studio before the Sochi Hockey Open 2023 match. Subsequently it became a meme. The figure skater released merch with this non-existent word, which, according to her, sold out on the first day.
On New Year’s Eve, Zagitova also made fun of Evgenia Medvedeva. “It’s 2024, and someone is still in 2018,” she wrote on the social network, accompanying the post with a “crying person” emoji.
Zagitova is the only single figure skater in the history of Russia who has won all the titles in world figure skating. She became the 2018 Olympic champion, world and European champion, and also the winner of the Grand Prix final.
