In Poland, a judge was deprived of his license for working on “Heavenly Grace” with the participation of Russians
The Polish Gymnastics Association (PZG) punished Polish judge Irina Lortkipanidze for her work at the “Heavenly Grace” rhythmic gymnastics tournament. This is reported on the organization’s website.
PZG said it had revoked the referee’s refereeing and coaching licenses. They emphasized that they are against allowing athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in international tournaments.
The “Heavenly Grace” competition was held in Beijing from December 15 to 17. Gymnasts from 19 countries took part in the tournament.
On November 10, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) revealed the conditions for admitting Russians to international tournaments. Team members should not have connections with the army or law enforcement agencies, and they should not support the special operation. In addition, athletes’ uniforms should be light blue, rhythmic gymnastics apparatus should be completely white, and the musical accompaniment should not hint at nationality.
Russian gymnasts have not taken part in tournaments since March 2022 due to FIG sanctions.
