Sevilla advances on penalties in the Copa del Rey

Sevilla suffered this Wednesday to win 6-5 on penalties against the modest Andratx, from the 2nd RFEF (equivalent to the fourth division of the spanish football) for the second phase of the Copa del Rey.

Rafa Mir put the Andalusians ahead (56), but Miguel Llabrés tied for Andratx (64) taking the game to extra time and maximum penalties, where Julen Lopetegui’s team ended up winning.

Sevilla advanced to the 16th of the final round of the knockout tournament, which will also include Rayo Vallecano, who beat 2nd RFEF’s Bergantiños by 3-1, and Real Sociedad, who defeated (3-0) Zamora da 1st RFEF (third division).

Unlike Sevilla’s victory on penalties in the Copa del Rey, Villarreal didn’t have any problems to beat Atlético Sanluqueño (1st RFEF) by 7-1.

Eibar defeated Tenerife, from the Second Division, by 2-1, while Elche struggled to overcome Unionistas (1st RFEF) by 1-0 in stoppage time.

An own goal by Fernando Román (90 + 2) allowed Elche to reach the last 16 of the Copa del Rey.
