SHOT: Chaika hockey players Potapov and Lebedev, who died in an accident, were not wearing seat belts
Hockey players of the children’s team “Chaika” Artem Potapov and Maxim Lebedev died in an accident when returning from competitions. Details of the incident became known to the SHOT Telegram channel.
According to the source, the accident occurred on the afternoon of December 30 on the A-114 highway in the Cherepovets district of the Vologda region. The driver lost control, drove into the oncoming lane, after which the car collided with a truck.
It is noted that the athletes were in the back seat and were not wearing seat belts. The driver, the father of one of the boys, also died as a result of the accident.
The accident became known earlier on December 30. “There are assumptions that it skidded due to a rut, an unsuccessful lane change. The road is four-lane, he should not have entered the oncoming lane on his own initiative,” said the Vologda Region Hockey Federation.
