IDK Euskotren beats Lointek Gernika (59-77) and wins the last Basque derby of the year

IDK Euskotren achieved victory against Lointek Gernika Bizkaia (59-77) in the Basque derby of the 14th day of the Endesa League which was played on Saturday, December 30 in Maloste (Gernika-Lumo).
That way, The San Sebastián team ends 2023 in 6th position in the standingscertifying your qualification for the Cupwhile The Gernika-Lumo team closes the year in 7th place.
From the beginning the IDK Euskotren took control of the party. By the 5th minute the visitors had already gained an 8-point lead (2-10). Afterwards, they increased the lead and the first quarter ended with a score of 8-21 favorable to the IDK Euskotren.
In the second quarter Lointek Gernika improved. The locals had their good moment and reduced their disadvantage to 10 points (24-34). However, in the last two minutes of the quarter the Gipuzkoa team once again won, reaching half-time with a 13-point lead (27-40).
After the break the script of the match did not change. The dominance of the visitors continued and the locals were not able to respond. Thus, IDK Euskotren reached the last quarter with a favorable score of 41-55.
In the final 10 minutes, IDK Euskotren managed well the income they had earned in the previous quarters. Lointek Gernika Bizkaia could not react and get into the match and, in the end, the victory went to IDK Euskotren (59-77).
