Medvedeva reproached Tutberidze for lying about her joy after winning silver at the 2018 Games
Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva accused coach Eteri Tutberidze of lying. She spoke about this in an interview with the “Rental Show” on Okko.
Previously, Tutberidze stated that Medvedeva “cryed with happiness” after winning silver at the 2018 Olympic Games. “Why did I cry after the free program? Everything I said here today is very different from what was not said by me there. These are two completely different versions. Well, what happiness, what joy? What the hell is joy?!” – noted the athlete.
In the summer of 2023, Medvedeva spoke about the reasons for leaving Tutberidze. After the 2018 Olympics, the figure skater stopped working with the specialist and moved to Canada, where she worked under the guidance of local coach Brian Orser. The athlete admitted that she made this decision because of the pity that was shown to her in Tutberidze’s group.
Medvedeva is a two-time world and European champion. At the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang, the figure skater won two silver medals – in the team competition and in the individual competition. In the singles competition, her compatriot Alina Zagitova was ahead of her.
