Karpin agreed to invite actor Mogilnikov from “The Boy’s Word” to the team
Actor Yaroslav Mogilnikov, who played the role of Yeralash in the series “The Boy’s Word: Blood on the Asphalt,” asked head coach Valery Karpin to take him to the Russian national football team. The video message was posted on the national team’s Telegram channel.
“Hello, team! Happy New Year to you. Valery Georgievich, take me to play for the national team. I’ll show everyone there that we are real boys, and not idiots,” said Mogilnikov.
Later, the actor received a response from Karpin, who noted that there was no problem with the call. “Let us first decide who is the boys on our team and who is the chumps. And you, like a real kid, will be called to the boys, but you don’t need to go to the chushpans,” he said.
The series “The Boy’s Word: Blood on the Asphalt,” directed by Zhora Kryzhovnikov, was released earlier in December. This series has become the main cultural event of the end of 2023 in Russia.
The Russian national team does not take part in major international tournaments due to sanctions from the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations. Karpin’s team plays friendly matches.
