Medveeva told how a doctor put out a cigarette on her back during an appointment
Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva spoke about an unusual doctor’s appointment she attended in 2023. An interview about the athlete was published on the Figurka YouTube channel.
According to the Russian woman, during a tour in Sochi her back began to hurt, after which she was advised to go for acupuncture. “A little lady, about 70 years old, comes into the office. She’s really very small, Asian in appearance, with a huge black bouffant. He tells me: “Get down,” Medvedeva said.
After that, according to the skater, the doctor placed needles on her body and asked her to wait for eight seconds. At the sixth second, the athlete felt a burning sensation. “I say: “What are you doing there?” She’s like, “I’m lighting a cigarette!” She put out her cigarette on me,” Medvedeva said.
The athlete said that after this she interrupted the appointment and ran away from the clinic. “I call a taxi and realize that I’ve really been let go,” the skater added.
Medvedeva is a two-time world and European champion. At the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, the figure skater won two silver medals – in the team competition and in the individual competition. In 2021, she announced that she had effectively retired from acting.
