The Marie de Jongh theater company premieres today, December 29, the show “Mr Bo”, aimed at children and adults, at the Kultur Leioa theater in the town of Biscay.
Faithful to its style over the last decade, the company will convey the story to the public, from 3-4 years old, through masks and gestures, without text.
“Mr Bo” addresses power through “humour, laughter, fun and very special masks”: what is power? Who uses it? How is it used? What makes us tyrants?
Three servants are accustomed to obeying everything Mr. Bo says. They have spent their entire lives at the mercy of their master, under the authority of Mr. Bo. When their boss was a child, the servants had a chance to say No, but they did not do it and have had to resist the tyranny of the boss. Suddenly, you will have a new opportunity to say No.
The artistic team is made up of regular actors and actresses in the company: Ana Meabe, Ana MartÃnez, Javier Renovales and Anduriña Zurutuza, directed by Jokin Oregi, artistic director of Marie de Jongh. On this occasion, Javier Tirado has collaborated with Oregi and has been in charge of designing and manufacturing the plastic imagery, props and masks.
