Tatyana Tarasova wished Kamila Valieva patience and strength in the New Year
Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova addressed Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva with New Year’s wishes. RB Sport reports this.
“What do I wish Valieva for the new year? Patience and strength. This unique athlete has had enough challenges on her shoulders. I wish Valieva to emerge victorious from all difficulties in the new year,” Tarasova noted.
At the Russian Championship held in Chelyabinsk, Valieva took third place, scoring 237.99 points. The winner was another student of coach Eteri Tutberidze, Adelia Petrosyan, who received 246.53 points.
The 17-year-old figure skater is the subject of a doping investigation. Traces of a prohibited drug were found in Valieva’s sample from December 2021. The final decision on the athlete’s case will be made by CAS in January 2024.
